Russia’s Investigative Committee shed light on which countries sent most mercenaries to Armed Forces of Ukraine
Georgia, the United Kingdom, the United States and Canada have sent the largest number of mercenaries to fight on the side of the Ukrainian army – as stated by the Chairman of Russia’s Investigative Committee, Aleksandr Bastrykin, TASS reports
Speaking at the recent International Youth Legal Forum in St. Petersburg, Mr. Bastrykin informed, “The largest number of mercenaries have arrived to the Armed Forces of Ukraine from Georgia — 712 people. 694 have come from the UK, 816 – from the US, and 719 – from Canada.”
The official added that the Investigative Committee had completed the investigation of 127 criminal cases of mercenary activities. “Based on the results of the review by the courts, 97 mercenaries from 26 countries were indicted. 42 of them were from Georgia, 13 – from the US, 10 – from Latvia, 4 – from the United Kingdom, 4 – from France, 3 – from Finland, 2 – from Lithuania, and one each from Lithuania and Australia," Mr. Bastrykin said.
