Lukashenko on weather and harvest: rains are blessing, Belarus will have bread!
The weather conditions are contributing to a good harvest this year – as noted by President of Belarus Aleksandr Lukashenko during his visit to the Mound of Glory memorial complex today, BelTA reports
While visiting the memorial complex, Aleksandr Lukashenko did not miss the opportunity to ask the Minsk Regional Executive Committee Chairman how the harvesting campaign is progressing in the region, and he was reported that it is meeting the schedule, and the work is proceeding according to plan countywide in general.
"The early mowing is over, and it is only the Vitebsk Region that has not yet completed it. The weather is warm now, and corn has begun growing normally,” Prime Minister Aleksandr Turchin said.
A little later, when talking with the veterans, the Head of State said that the weather would contribute to a good harvest this year. “The Lord has given us good weather. There’s much rain, but it's good. Look, never before we had such fields, and so we'll have bread. We will have potato as well,” Aleksandr Lukashenko remarked.
The President added that the territory surrounding the memorial complex should be landscaped, and more trees should be planted here. “The mound should remain a mound, it should be free. I often drive to the airport and look around: it would be great to have a park or a bigger grove here. The governor promises to plant a good park here," the Head of State said.
