Foreign leaders congratulating Belarus’ President and people on Independence Day
Congratulations on Independence Day are being received today by President of Belarus Aleksandr Lukashenko and the Belarusian people from leaders of foreign countries, international organisations and integration associations, political and public figures, sb.by reports with reference to the Belarusian leader’s press service
The leaders of Russia, China, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Azerbaijan, Tajikistan, Kyrgyzstan, Turkmenistan, Turkiye, India, Pakistan, Israel, Serbia, Saudi Arabia, Oman, Qatar, the United Arab Emirates, Egypt, North Korea, Bahrain, Vietnam, Nicaragua, Venezuela, Myanmar, Singapore, Thailand, South Africa, Algeria, Sri Lanka, Palestine, Sudan and Chad have congratulated the President of Belarus and the Belarusian people.
Congratulations have been sent by Patriarch Kirill of Moscow and All Russia.
Congratulatory messages have also come from UN Secretary General Antonio Guterres, SCO Secretary General Nurlan Yermekbayev, CIS Secretary General Sergei Lebedev, Chairman of the Board of the Eurasian Economic Commission Bakytzhan Sagintayev, and CSTO Secretary General Imangali Tasmagambetov.
President of Russia Vladimir Putin noted in his congratulatory message that this holiday, commemorating Minsk’s liberation from Nazi invaders, is of lasting importance for both Belarusians and Russians, “By fighting shoulder to shoulder, our peoples made a decisive contribution to the Victory over Nazism."
"It is important that today, in the face of serious external threats and challenges, the bonds of brotherly friendship and mutual assistance that bind our countries remain as strong as ever. Russia and Belarus actively co-operate in various fields, co-ordinate efforts in international affairs and systematically improve the Union State institutions. I am confident that, by working together, we will overcome any difficulties and further strengthen our productive bilateral ties for the benefit of Russians and Belarusians, in the interests of ensuring stability and security in the Eurasian space. I wish you good health and success, and I wish happiness and prosperity to all people in Belarus," the Russian leader's message of greetings reads.
President of the People's Republic of China Xi Jinping has extended sincere congratulations and best wishes to Aleksandr Lukashenko and the friendly people of Belarus, “Under your leadership, Belarus has achieved social stability, economic development and comprehensive progress in various spheres of state-building. As a good friend and reliable partner, the Chinese side is sincerely pleased with these successes. We had a friendly meeting in Beijing last month. I attach great importance to the development of Chinese-Belarusian relations and am ready to work with you to guide bilateral relations and mutually beneficial co-operation towards sustainable and long-term development.”
Xi Jinping wished Aleksandr Lukashenko good health and all the best, also wishing power and prosperity to the Republic of Belarus, and happiness and well-being to the Belarusian people.
President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev wished Aleksandr Lukashenko further success in his responsible government activities, also wishing well-being and prosperity to the people of Belarus. "Under your strong leadership, Belarus has demonstrated significant success in socio-economic development and improving the well-being of the population. The Kazakh people have a constant sense of deep respect and sympathy for the fraternal Belarusian people, their unique culture and national traditions. Kazakhstan highly appreciates your personal contribution to strengthening the bonds of friendship and mutually beneficial co-operation between our countries, and firmly supports efforts aimed at bringing Kazakh-Belarusian relations to a qualitatively new level," his message of greetings reads.
Congratulations have also come from the first President of Kazakhstan, Nursultan Nazarbayev. He noted that Belarus demonstrates stable development, strengthening of state sovereignty and consistent progress towards modernisation. "I am confident that your country will continue to move forward rapidly, strengthening its position in the international arena and achieving new successes," his congratulatory message reads.
In his congratulatory address to Aleksandr Lukashenko, President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev emphasised the unprecedented high level of Uzbek-Belarusian relations achieved in recent years, “Mutually beneficial co-operation is dynamically developing in all areas, important programmes of economic co-operation and cultural and humanitarian exchange are being implemented. I am convinced that our upcoming meetings will open up new opportunities for further expansion of the multifaceted partnership between Uzbekistan and Belarus."
"Today, under your effective leadership, a strategy of large-scale transformations is being successfully implemented in Belarus, sustainable socio-economic development of the country is being ensured, and the welfare of the population is improving. I was once again convinced of that during my recent stay in Minsk," Shavkat Mirziyoyev noted.
President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev stressed that Azerbaijan and Belarus are traditionally linked by close relations of friendship and mutual support. He wished Aleksandr Lukashenko good health, happiness and success in government activities, also wishing well-being and prosperity to Belarus. "I would like to note with satisfaction the high dynamics of co-operation between our countries, which is being filled with new content every year. It is gratifying that we have been able to achieve a good level in developing interstate dialogue, strengthening trade and economic co-operation, and intensifying cultural and humanitarian ties. President of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon has congratulated Aleksandr Lukashenko and the friendly Belarusian people, “Tajikistan is sincerely pleased with the achievements of its strategic partner in socio-economic development and strengthening its authority in the international arena. Multifaceted co-operation with friendly Belarus occupies a special place in Tajikistan's foreign policy. I am confident that, through joint efforts, we will continue to strengthen our constructive interstate co-operation, making full use of the enormous potential available in our bilateral relations."
President of Kyrgyzstan Sadyr Japarov stated in his congratulatory message that Kyrgyz-Belarusian co-operation is steadily developing across the entire spectrum of bilateral relations, as well as within regional and international organisations. “I am convinced that further deepening and expansion of co-operation between our countries will contribute to strengthening friendship and increasing the well-being of the peoples of Kyrgyzstan and Belarus," he noted.
President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov has sent sincere congratulations to the Belarusian leader and all people of Belarus, “I am convinced that friendly relations between our countries will continue to strengthen for the benefit of our peoples. Taking this opportunity, I sincerely wish you good health, happiness and success, also wishing well-being and prosperity to the people of the Republic of Belarus."
President of Turkiye Recep Tayyip Erdogan has also sent congratulations to the President of Belarus, “I am convinced that the value of multilateral and effective co-operation between our countries will increase even more during this period, when regional and global events are gaining momentum. In his congratulatory message, Prime Minister of Pakistan Shehbaz Sharif stressed that the two countries have historically sincere and friendly relations. "I am pleased to see that, thanks to Your Excellency's commitment, our friendship is being transformed into a mutually beneficial economic partnership. I am pleased to recall our warmest and most productive discussions during my visit to the majestic city of Minsk in April 2025. I would like to once again express my deep gratitude to Your Excellency for the leadership that allowed both sides to sign landmark co-operation agreements," the message of greetings reads. “I look forward to working closely with you in the coming days to further strengthen our multilateral co-operation. Congratulations have also come from President of Pakistan Asif Ali Zardari. He stressed that Pakistan highly appreciates the friendly and constructive relations between the two countries based on mutual respect and common aspirations for progress.
In his congratulatory message, President of Israel Isaac Herzog praised the historical relations between the peoples of Belarus and Israel, "Israel is proud to have become home to a large number of people from Belarus who have made an invaluable contribution to the construction of our state. For example, Chaim Weizmann, the first President of Israel and a great statesman, was born in the territory of modern Belarus. My wife Michal's family also comes from Belarus. All these people, like the Jewish community of Belarus, serve as a living bridge that connects Israel and Belarus."

The congratulatory message from King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud of Saudi Arabia reads, “On the occasion of your country's Independence Day, please accept, Your Excellency, my sincere congratulations and wishes of good health and happiness. I wish the Government and the friendly people of the Republic of Belarus further progress and prosperity." Congratulations have also come from Crown Prince and Prime Minister Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud.
Sultan Haitham bin Tariq Al Said of Oman has conveyed sincere congratulations to Aleksandr Lukashenko on the occasion of Independence Day, “We take this opportunity to wish you happiness and good health, and to wish further progress and prosperity to the friendly people of Belarus."

President of Serbia Aleksandar Vucic noted in his congratulatory message, “The friendly relations between our countries are a solid foundation for strengthening comprehensive Serbian-Belarusian co-operation, and I am confident that we will contribute to this by working together for the benefit of the citizens of the Republic of Serbia and the Republic of Belarus."

Chairman of the State Administration Council, Prime Minister of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar Min Aung Hlaing has conveyed sincere congratulations and best wishes to Aleksandr Lukashenko and all Belarusians. “Myanmar highly appreciates the kind and constructive relations that have been consistently developing between our states over the years. On the occasion of Independence Day, President of Venezuela Nicolas Maduro expressed respect and admiration for the courage of the Belarusian people, their exceptional ability to resist and sacrifice shown in the defence of sovereignty. "This date is a great opportunity to confirm Venezuela's readiness to deepen the bonds of brotherhood and strategic co-operation with Belarus in the name of building a common peaceful future, development and joint prosperity," the Venezuelan leader stressed.
President of the Republic of South Africa Cyril Ramaphosa has conveyed warm greetings and best wishes to Aleksandr Lukashenko, "Let me take this opportunity to wish Your Excellency good health, as well as to confirm our commitment to further strengthen and intensify the wonderful bonds of friendship that exist between our countries."
In his congratulatory message, President of the Republic of Singapore Tharman Shanmugaratnam noted, "On the occasion of Independence Day of Belarus, on behalf of the people of Singapore, I would like to express our warmest congratulations and sincere wishes for further peace, progress and prosperity to your country and people."

UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres has congratulated Aleksandr Lukashenko on Independence Day. He also noted that national holidays are not only an occasion for celebrations, but also an opportunity to reflect on the global challenges facing all of humanity. “The international community is facing an increasing number of challenges that require a collective response, and they range from the climate crisis and armed conflicts to deepening inequality. It was in this spirit that the Pact for the Future was adopted. This important decision, approved by the UN General Assembly last year, is based on the desire to strengthen multilateral co-operation, promote peace, sustainable development and human rights for all."
