A country is rich when it has smart and hard-working people, rather than merely natural resources – as noted by President of Belarus Aleksandr Lukashenko during today’s awards ceremony for graduates and teachers of higher education institutions at the Palace of Independence

The Head of State once again thanked the awarded graduates for all that they had done at this stage of their lives, as well as the teachers who nurtured such a remarkable generation, “When I see our exceptional young girls and boys, I can’t help but think that if we had more like them, we would face no problems and would be prosperous. A country’s wealth comes from its smart and hard-working people, not merely from its natural resources. That’s why we have you; you represent the future of our country.”
