Diplomat: US won’t ask Belarus to do anything to harm Russia
The United States will not ask Belarus to do anything to harm Russia — as noted by Belarus’ Permanent Representative to the UN Valentin Rybakov, who took part in a meeting between Belarus’ President Aleksandr Lukashenko and US President’s Special Envoy for Ukraine Keith Kellogg, BelTA reports
“During any such meeting, the President of Belarus consistently highlights that our country, as a close strategic ally and partner of both the Russian Federation and the People’s Republic of China, will never take actions that could harm these countries. The American representatives acknowledge and accept this. It is worth noting that at the most recent meeting, the American delegation stressed that the US would never request Belarus to take any actions that would harm the Russian Federation. This is important and valuable, as it underscores the American understanding of our role in the situation,” the diplomat stated.
“Although, especially at an earlier stage, Belarus faced numerous accusations of being co-aggressors and nearly direct participants, and so on. However, I can confidently assert that Washington fully comprehends the actual role of the Republic of Belarus and the President of Belarus in the current events occurring in our region,” Mr. Rybakov added.
