Belarus’ PM presented Rosatom CEO with Order of Honour for his contribution to BelNPP construction project

During today’s meeting, Belarus’ Prime Minister Aleksandr Turchin has presented Director General of the Rosatom State Atomic Energy Corporation Aleksei Likhachev with a state honour. Rosatom CEO has been awarded the Order of Honour by decree of the President of Belarus, Aleksandr Lukashenko, for his exceptional professionalism and significant contribution to the implementation of the investment project for the construction of the Belarusian nuclear power plant (BelNPP).

“I want to thank you for your personal participation in the construction of our first nuclear power plant, for your assistance and support. I am happy to carry out the President’s instruction to present you with a high state award for your personal contribution to our large-scale national project,” Mr. Turchin said.

In turn, Mr. Likhachev thanked the Head of Government and the President of Belarus for such a high assessment of the work done, “I am grateful to President Aleksandr Lukashenko for the award, and, of course, for his fatherly concern for our bilateral Russian-Belarusian co-operation in the field of peaceful atom and in the expanding competencies of our interaction with the light hand of our presidents. Our relationship progressed a little more than ten years ago, and now that I’m seeing the fruits of our labour, I can say: ‘My heart sings with joy!’”
